NL East Rivals

Twiggs and I have a common love for national league baseball. The designated hitter -- an unspeakable tragedy! The trouble is that Twiggs love the Phillies. I'm a Braves fan, so I hate the Phillies. I had the best of it when I arrived on campus and the Braves were in the midst of their record-breaking run of division crowns. When the Phillies finally took the division title, the only thing that gave me solace was a deep affection for Twiggs and how pleased he was to finally see his beloved Phillies abandon their traditional losing for winning. If I was going to be miserable, at least Twiggs could be happy. I'm sure that I'll have my time again very soon. Just today in the dining hall, where we have all of our NL East conversations, I was witness to an analysis characteristically Twiggs : "I knew the Phillies were going to be like this. No Howard! No Utley! No pitching!" Maybe next year, Twiggs, maybe next year.
