The Dance program at Berkshire offers an eclectic variety of styles, including Modern, Contemporary International, Hip Hop, Popping and Locking, Ballet and Jazz and more.
Students spend their afternoons in vigorous training for these techniques concurrently taking part in the creative process of learning choreography for performance. The performance aspect of the program highlights these different dance styles through a variety of concerts.
This diverse program challenges students' perceptions of what they are capable of while exploring dance as a powerful tool for expression, creativity and discussion. Students enjoy the opportunity to take part in the creative process of putting together three performances per year. Working hand in hand with the instructor, Kristine Waterman, the students both learn and create choreography that represents the program as a whole, as well as honoring each individual dancer's vision.
