With dramatic glass walls and skylights and a terraced landscape, the new math/ science center is as eye-pleasing as it is practical. And in keeping with the school’s commitment to sustainability, it will be certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.

The center was designed Centerbrook Architects and Planners of Centerbrook, Conn., architects of Yale’s Kroon Hall, an acclaimed showcase for green building technologies. The facility replaces two 90-year-old buildings, Memorial Hall and Glenny House, which have been largely vacant for the last several years. Construction on the new center began in 2011 and was completed in the summer of 2012.
Head of School Mike Maher is enthusiastic about the impact of new facility. “It is no secret that America has fallen behind in these two key disciplines, and the new center will significantly improve the learning opportunities available to our students in these fields.”
