Bears help Team USA Win Gold

Kacey Bellamy '05 and Kendall Coyne '11 helped Team USA claim gold at the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championships on Friday. Bellamy scored two and was named U.S. Player of the Game, while Coyne earned an assist in the game-winning overtime goal in the 3-2 win over Canada. Coyne, along with Brianna Decker and Nicole Hensley, were named the Top 3 U.S. Players of the Tournament.

The victory was the fourth consecutive world championship for the U.S. Women's National Team and its eighth championship overall. Team USA racked up a 5-0 record and went undefeated at the tournament for the third consecutive year.

The victory came just over a week after the U.S. Women's team, in a show of solidarity, came to an agreement over fair pay and benefits with USA Hockey. Click here for a full recap and videos.
