Sylvia Gappa, the girls’ varsity hockey coach at Berkshire, was not surprised at all by Bellamy’s Olympic selection. “Even when she was a freshman, you could tell that Kacey was going to go far in the sport of hockey. She saw the ice so well for such a young player, and carried herself with such composure. She was calm under pressure and loved – and still loves - playing the game.” Her tenacity is integral to her success. “With each accomplishment, she dug in and worked harder. She is an excellent representative of the character we talk a lot about in our program and we as a team and community are so excited to watch her on the ice in February.
