Harvard Schmarvard and Colleges That Change Lives focus on colleges that, while they may be less widely known, provide their students with an excellent education. The Gate Keepers is a particularly timely and relevant look into the way that colleges market themselves and select students. The Early Admissions Game is admittedly a long book for such a narrow topic, but recommended for those who are interested in the "strategy" of applying early to colleges. Finally, The College Admission Mystique has some enlightening material, and is authored by a Berkshire School alumnus.
