Lacrosse - Girls Varsity
The girls varsity lacrosse program at Berkshire School emphasizes improvement, commitment, teamwork, and most of all fun. We play a very competitive schedule that includes many of the traditional prep school powerhouses like Loomis Chaffee, Greenwich Academy, Hotchkiss, and Taft. Our practices are high-intensity, focused, and efficient, incorporating fitness into skills work at all levels.
Following a spring break trip to Florida, the team's 16-game season begins in early April and wraps up at the end of May.
Head Coach: Katherine Simmons
Coach Simmons returned to Berkshire lacrosse in spring 2017 after previously serving as the assistant coach from 2008 to 2010. A distinguished student-athlete, she competed as a midfielder for Cornell University. A three-time All-Ivy selection, a senior All-American, and team captain, Coach Simmons helped guide the Big Red to the 2006 Ivy League Championship. No stranger to independent schools, Coach Simmons graduated from the Taft School where she was a multi-sport athlete competing in soccer, hockey, and lacrosse.
In addition to her lacrosse responsibilities, Ms. Simmons serves as the head coach for the girls junior varsity soccer team in the fall and leads the strength and conditioning program in the winter. She also works in the Admission Office.
