Lacrosse - Girls Varsity
The girls’ lacrosse program at Berkshire School emphasizes improvement, commitment, teamwork, and most of all fun. We play a very competitive schedule that includes many of the traditional prep school powerhouses like Loomis Chaffee, Greenwich Academy, Hotchkiss, and Taft. Our practices are high-intensity, focused, and efficient, incorporating fitness into skills work at all levels.
Our 16-game season begins in early April and wraps up at the end of May. Berkshire's two artificial turf fields ensure that upon return from our spring break trip to Florida we can practice outdoors in order to prepare for our first game against Choate.
Head Coach: Katherine Simmons
Coach Simmons returned to Berkshire lacrosse in spring 2017 after previously serving as the assistant coach from 2008 to 2010. A distinguished student-athlete, Simmons competed as a midfielder for the Cornell Big Red. Simmons was a three-time All-Ivy selection, a senior All-American, and team captain. She helped guide the Big Red to a 2006 Ivy League Championship. No stranger to the independent school model, Simmons graduated from the Taft School where she was a multiple sport athlete competing in soccer, hockey, and lacrosse.
In addition to her lacrosse responsibilities, Coach Simmons serves as the head coach for the girls JV soccer team in the fall and head coach for strength and conditioning in the winter; Simmons will also assist in Admission.
